LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) - Did you know that a Lubbock man is an influencer on TikTok with several million followers?

They all know him as the “Dancing UPS Guy.”

Russell Butler will be the first to tell you, “I am a UPS guy who likes to spread love, joy and light.”

You can’t help but smile when you watch him do what he loves to do, which is dance.

But there’s a much bigger reason we are focusing on him in this Healthwise segment.

Butler is the author of a book called, “Battling Depression.”

When watching his videos, you’d think he is the happiest guy on the planet.

However, his new book shares a more revealing story.

Even as a teen and a junior at Monterey High School in Lubbock, the school yearbook in 1998 mentions that he sings and dances.

By his senior year in 1999, he gets a full page. It’s captioned, “Russell Butler shows his dance steps at the third annual rock fest.”

Now at age 42, he is wildly successful on TikTok.

But his book reveals a struggle he has had since high school - living with depression.
