Curtis Granderson Jr. (born March 16, 1981), nicknamed "the Grandyman", is an American former professional baseballoutfielder. He played 16 seasons in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Detroit Tigers, New York Yankees, New York Mets, Los Angeles Dodgers, Toronto Blue Jays, Milwaukee Brewers, and Miami Marlins.
Granderson played college baseball at the University of Illinois at Chicago. He was selected by the Tigers in the 2002 MLB draft. He made his MLB debut with the Tigers in 2004. Granderson is a three-time MLB All-Star, and won a Silver Slugger Award in 2011. He retired after the 2019 season.

Biography
Acquired in one of the more star-studded trades you’ll come across, Curtis Granderson made an immediate and booming impact in his four-year tenure with the Yankees. Coming off of several impressive seasons in a row in Detroit, he reimagined his presence at the plate, and became one of New York’s best players on some very good teams in the early 2010s. With his infectious positive demeanor and new-found power from the left side of the plate, the Grandy Man quickly became a fan favorite in the Bronx.
Early Years
Granderson was born to Curtis Sr. and Mary, both teachers, in the south suburbs of Chicago, where he grew up. He attended Thornton Fractional South High School in Lansing, IL, where he excelled playing basketball and baseball.
