ARCHDALE, N.C. — Harold Eddie Ray Bishop, 76, of Archdale, passed away Thursday, March 29, 2018, at his home.
Born August 27, 1941, in Elizabethton, Tenn., he was a son of the late Worley Bishop and the late Marty Jordan Bishop.
Mr. Bishop was a U.S. Army veteran and a retired painting crew supervisor at Furniture Land South.
He is survived by his love, Kathy Hyatt, of the home; sons, Kenny Bishop and wife Maranda of High Point, and Eddie Ray Bishop Jr., of the Bahamas; sister, Joann Bishop Carver and husband Harold; brothers, Jimmy Bishop, and Kenneth Bishop and wife Linda; and seven grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Tommy Lynn Bishop and Ishmael Bishop; and sister, Evbene Bishop.

DEATH: HAROLD RAY CHRISTENSEN

Harold Ray Christensen, 89, of Moroni, Utah died August 26, 1996 in Orem, Utah.

He was born May 31, 1907 in Moroni, Utah to Minnie and Heber Christensen. He married Ruth Anderson on November 27, 1928. He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many capacities. He served as a counselor in five different bishoprics and also as bishop. He served for many years in Scouting and earned the Silver Beaver Award. He also served as a superintendent of the Sunday School. He served as a temple worker with his wife for 11 years in the Manti Temple, and Provo Temple for four years. He loved the theatre, music, and was in many musicals in school and stake productions. He was also asked to speak in many wards and stakes. He also spoke at many funerals.Survived by wife, Moroni; sons, Ray (Billie), Taylorsville; Glade (Carol Dee), So. Harold Bishop, B.Div. ’59, aged 92, was born December 2, 1931, and died on October 22, 2024. Harold gave his life to serve The Lord as a minister of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Harold was born in Omaha, Nebraska and then moved to Early, Iowa during his childhood. His father, Roy Bishop, was a sheep shearer and his mother, Edith Salstrand Bishop, was a school teacher. He grew up with an older sister and younger brother.

Harold attended Central College in McPherson, Kansas where he met his bride, Bonnie Bishop. They were married on September 3, 1954, after Harold returned from his military service in Korea. Harold completed his undergraduate degree at Seattle Pacific University and then attended Asbury Theological Seminary for completion of his master’s degree of divinity. Harold and Bonnie’s daughter, Cheryl, was born during Harold’s seminary training.

During Harold’s years of ministry, he pastored at the Free Methodist Church in Caldwell, Kansas for five years. It was there Harold and Bonnie welcomed their second daugh
