The Walls Group is made up of four of eight children, born to Roger and Alicia Walls. Being the children of two musicians, these kids could not escape the inevitable. Music has resounded within the walls of the Walls household for years.

Darrel McGlothen Walls is 19 years old and is the eldest member of the Walls Family Singers, formerly the Walls Kidz. At a very early age Darrel demonstrated very unique musical abilities. While at Grace Memorial C.O.G.I.C., a young girl taught him to play the tambourine at the age of 1 ½ years old. Everywhere he went he had to have a tambourine and everyone knew it. At the age of 3, a pastor friend stood him on the Remembrance table and he sang his very first solo, Somebody's Knocking At Your Door. That was the start of something big. Darrel was a soprano until the age of 13. He started playing drums at the age of 4 and did so until he replaced them with the organ/keyboard. THE WALLS – a brief biography - 2022

Formed by two founding members of The Stunning - brothers Steve and Joe Wall – the band’s debut album Hi-Lo was released in 2000. U2 offered them a support at their second show in Slane Castle in 2002 after the band sent them copies. In 2002 the single ‘To the Bright and Shining Sun’ was used on a TV commercial and became a top ten hit in Ireland. Their second album ‘New Dawn Breaking’ (2005) hit number 5 in the Irish charts. The movie Begin Again starring Keira Knightley & Mark Ruffalo features the track ‘Drowning Pool’ over the opening credits. The song ‘Open Road‘ proved a favourite with Nic Harcourt on his KCRW show ‘Morning Becomes Eclectic’ and in 2006 he invited the band to Santa Monica to play in studio. Their third album ‘Stop the Lights’ came out in 2012, with the first single ‘Bird in a Cage’ becoming a firm favourite with Irish radio. The bands fourth album Stray Sparks is released in March 2023, a collection of rarities and previously unreleased material.
