Rucha Pujari (born 2 July 1994) is an Indian chess player. She is currently a Woman FIDE Master and holds two Woman International Master norms.
Early Years
Rucha was born in Kolhapur, Maharashtra. She took interest in the game of chess at the age of six and learnt the first moves from her elder brother. Her talent for this game was recognized when she won her first national championship at the age of seven. She showed remarkable success in her early years and later on chose the field of chess as her career.

Pujari has represented India in four World Youth Chess Championships(2005: U-12 girls category held in France, 2009: U-16 girls category held in Antalya-Turkey, 2010: U-16 girls category held in Greece, 2012: U-18 girls category held in Slovenia).
She also represented India in one of the major global chess event World Junior Chess Champion

Rucha Pujari (born 2 July 1994) is an Indian chess player. She is currently a Woman International Master[1] and was previously awarded the title of Woman FIDE Master[2] in 2006.
Born in Kolhapur, she picked up the game of chess at the age of six in year 2000 along with her brother.[3] She won her first age-group under-7 state championship in 2001, followed by winning the national under-7 championship in Chennai.[4]
She is a recipient of Shiv Chhatrapati Award, highest sports award honored annually to the players of Maharashtra by the Government of Maharashtra, India.[5]

Pujari has represented India in numerous World Youth Chess Championships including 2009: U-16 girls category held in Antalya-Turkey,[6] and 2012: U-18 girls category held in Slovenia[7]).
