Greg McCullough Kane, June 29, 1944, to October 26, 2024
Born in Summit, New Jersey, the same month as the D-Day invasion of Europe, to Clara Douglass McCullough and Gerald H.B. Kane, exported to Arcadia, California as an infant, and late of Aztec, New Mexico, Greg Kane passed on held by his son Jeff.
Greg always averred that he earned his Doctorate of Law not to carry on the family profession, but to avoid being drafted. He spent his free time in those days enjoying uncontrolled substances, promoting free love, and protesting war. Greg tried a number of ways to make a living before settling into appellate practice at a keyboard in his beach walkers at his long-time home on Miramar Drive in Vista, California. He has no doubt already parsed these words for split infinitives, the passive voice, and other offenses to Elements of Style.
Greg's brother Gerry alleged they were descended from a long line of Irish poets and horse thieves and, there being no evidence to the contrary, Greg insisted that the family name live on. He also added musician to the lineage.
