After watching Season 2 of Project Runway Canada, I have been a huge fan of Canadian designer, Sunny Fong.
Born and raised in Toronto, ON, Fong started out in the film business, but soon realized that his passion was in fashion design. In 2004, he launched his company, VAWK, a Canadian luxury line for women’s wear. A self-taught sewer, his tailoring is impeccable and his designs are sexy, sophisticated, edgy, and feminine. While VAWK’s collections were met with praise and accolades, the brand was put on hold in 2007 due to financial reasons.
When Project Runway Canada began recruiting for contestants for its second season in 2008, Fong saw this as an opportunity that could help revive his line if he won. During the entire show, it was quite clear from the beginning that he was a very talented and creative designer. Ultimately, Fong was crowned the winner of season 2 with his Alexander the Great inspired collection, and was therefore able to continue the VAWK label.
Since then, he has appeared in a number of fashion magazines, such as Vogue

by Kelly Cameron - Sep 30, 2013
The White Cashmere Collection 10th Anniversary fashion show took place last week, featuring a stunning vision of a future without breast cancer. The show featured a cast of 20 new and returning designers featuring their creations - made entirely out of 100 per cent pure, soft Cashmere Bathroom Tissue. The show is celebrating it's tenth year, and the foundation works tirelessly to help raise money and awareness for breast cancer research. BWW was thrilled to be on hand to capture photos of the stunning dresses (you won't believe it's toilet paper!) and provide coverage of this awesome event leading into October Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
