William Beckley
William Francis Beckley is a London, UK-born actor featured in both Escape from the Planet of the Apes and the Planet of the Apes television series. He appeared in the 1971 movie as a British Newscaster reporting on the arrival of a spaceship "manned" by chimpanzees, in the 1974 TV pilot episode "Escape from Tomorrow" as Grundig, and in the episode "Up Above the World So High" as a council orang.
He is best known for his role as Gerard the butler in the television series Dynasty. Other TV credits include Combat!, Batman, Mission: Impossible, Hogan's Heroes, Night Gallery, Marcus Welby M.D., Charlie's Angels, Kojak, Fantasy Island, Hawaii Five-O, General Hospital and The Rockford Files. Beckley moved to Blackfoot, Idaho, in the early 1990s to open a bed-and-breakfast.
