Pauline Marie Jaricot (22 July 1799[1] – 9 January 1862) was a French member of the Third Order of Saint Dominic. She also was the founder of the Society of the Propagation of the Faith and the Association of the Living Rosary. Pope John XXIII ratified the first step of her beatification process, declaring her venerable.[2] On 26 May 2020, Pope Francis recognized a miracle attributed to her intercession as the final requirement for beatification. The ceremony was celebrated on 22 May 2022 in Lyon by Cardinal Luis Antonio Tagle.
Life
Jaricot was born in Lyon, France, on 22 July 1799, the youngest of seven children of Antoine and Jeanne Jaricot. Her father owned a silk factory in Lyon. Her brother, Philéas, was a missionary in Quangnam.[2] At fifteen years of age Pauline was introduced into the social life of the city. Subsequently, a sermon on vanity made a deep impression on her.

(An Update) BLESSED PAULINE-MARIE JARICOT (1799-1862) PAULINE JARICOT, a citizen of Lyon, France, foundress of the Propagation of the Faith and the Living Rosary, was proclaimed blessed on May 22, 2022. More than 12,000 faithful from all over the world attended the beatification ceremony, and more than 500 priests from five continents were present. Cardinal Luis Antonio Tagle, Prefect of the Pontifical Congregation, together with the Archbishop of Lyon, Olivier de Germany, welcomed 120 national directors of the Pontifical Mission Societies. The Society was founded 200 years ago and may be summed up in the motto:
"A PRAYER and a PENNY for the MISSIONS!"
PAULINE JARICOT had extraordinary spiritual and missionary Insights. Pauline was docile and obedient to the Holy Spirit. She was a wealthy woman who found herself destitute, humiliated, calumniated and forgotten by all at her death.
