This Member’s origins are obscure, but he should not be confused with the Canterbury lawyer bearing his name who served as prothonotary of King’s Bench and receiver of its fines under James I.17 He was evidently related to William Man of Cheshir

John Towner Williams (born February 8, 1932)[1][2][3] is an American composer and conductor. In a career that has spanned seven decades, he has composed some of the most popular, recognizable, and critically acclaimed film scores in cinema history.[4][5][6] He has a distinct sound that mixes romanticism, impressionism and atonal music with complex orchestration.[7] He is best known for his collaborations with Steven Spielberg and George Lucas and has received numerous accolades including 26 Grammy Awards, five Academy Awards, seven BAFTA Awards, three Emmy Awards and four Golden Globe Awards. With 54 Academy Award nominations, he is the second-most nominated person, after Walt Disney,[a] and is the oldest Oscar nominee in any category, at 91 years old.[8]

He is said to have been born at Blaen Pennal, Cardiganshire, and to have been the brother of David Williams (1717 - 1792) of Llyswyrny; but this belief is without foundation. He was a cooper by trade and for many years kept a shop at St Athan, Glamorganshire. He is probably the 'John Williams, Carpenter,' who married Mary Voss at S. Athan, 24 June 1755; he subsequently married three other wives. He was a member of the society at Aberthyn, but left the Methodists in 1791 when Peter Williams was expelled. He was one of the leaders of the company which founded the church at ' the Briton ' and chose Thomas William as its minister. Both were friends and used to take communion at Llan-gan in David Jones's (1736 - 1810) time. He died 26 August 1806 at the age of 78, and was buried at Saint Athan. He wrote some melodious hymns, a
